The KOHLER ClarityTM, both FEMA and WHO approved, is a ceramic water filtration system that filters 40 liters per day, and is effective in achieving a greater than 99% reduction of bacteria and protozoa. Specifically, it is effective in removing, to an acceptable level, the bacteria and protozoa of greatest concern in Puerto Rican post Hurricane Maria, like leptospirosis, E. coli, cholera, cryptosporidium, and giardia among others.

Our island team, along with our partners H2O World Wide and the Puerto Rico Science, Technology & Research Trust, begun to facilitate the distribution of 320 water filters and educational information about safe drinking water Monday, November 20. The filters will be distributed home-to-home in collaboration with Puerto Rico's Federally Qualified Health Centers and the Department of Health. At each home visit, a team teaches about filter assembly, use and maintenance, provide educational outreach materials and conduct a brief survey about the community, the household, their access to potable water and general health information.
